FOOD FOR THOUGHT!
The catering team at South Perth Hospital strives to provide food services to meet your individual needs. Our menus are Dietician approved and offer a range of low fat and healthy choice options with food prepared in house with minimal use of salts, sugar and fats. Special diets including allergen specific or cultural food requirements can be accommodated in consultation with our helpful staff.
Using the finest locally sourced ingredients, our food is freshly prepared daily ensuring a mouth-watering and tasty experience.
Menus change daily and you will be able to make your selection from menus items such as our healthy breakfast option of Bircher Muesli, Moroccan Chicken Salad with Couscous, Baked Barramundi with a Zesty Lemon and Herb Crust, traditional Roast Beef with all the trimmings or Panna Cotta with Berry Compote.
A visitors menu is available from Main Reception on request. A nominal fee will be charged. As an alternative, a healthy choices vending machine is on site with several cafés located a short walk from the hospital.

Lunch Midday – 12.30pm
Dinner 5.30pm – 6.00pm
South Perth Hospital complies with the Australia & New Zealand Food Standards Code and is audited by an external provider on a regular basis. All staff are trained to meet food safety requirements, ensuring best practice guidelines are maintained.

To achieve and maintain a healthy weight, be physically active and choose the right amount of nutritious food and drinks to meet your energy needs.
Enjoy a wide variety of nutritious foods from these five food groups every day:
- Plenty of vegetables of different types and colours, and legumes/beans
- Fruit
- Grain (cereal) foods, mostly wholegrain and/or high cereal fibre varieties, such as breads, cereals, rice, pasta, noodles, polenta, couscous, oats, quinoa and barley
- Lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts and seeds, and legumes/beans
- Milk, yoghurt, cheese and/or their alternatives, mostly reduced fat
Drink plenty of water.
Limit intake of foods containing saturated fat, added salt, added sugars and alcohol
Encourage, support and promote breastfeeding
