Physiotherapist

Casual

An opportunity exists for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our team.

Position Summary

As part of a multidisciplinary team you will be required to:

  • Conduct initial assessments (including falls risk) and implement individualised programs for acute medical inpatients
  • Conduct mobility assessments and prescribe appropriate exercise using evidenced based practice
  • Provide pre-operative education to surgical patients
  • Provide physiotherapy care to post-operative surgical patients
  • Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Assist in quality improvement activities for improved patient care
  • Provide education and support to members of the multidisciplinary team
  • Deliver manual handling education to the workforce.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy and registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated effective written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Current knowledge and experience with Occupational Safety and Health and Infection Control principles and practices and the Legislative Acts which affect physiotherapy practice, including EEO and Disability Services
  • Previous physiotherapy experience in a private hospital setting is desirable.

Admissions Clerk

Full time (76 hours/fortnight)

Perioperative Suite

South Perth Hospital is seeking an experienced admissions clerk to join our Admissions Team to provide administrative support to our Perioperative Suite, Main Reception and Ward Areas when required.

To be suitable for the role, recent experience in a healthcare related administrative role is essential. Previous experience in an admission clerk role or private hospital is desirable.

The main responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Providing administrative support to the Perioperative Suite, Main Reception and Ward Areas.
  • Receiving and managing telephone and front desk enquiries.
  • Completing health fund checks and obtaining informed financial consent.
  • Liaising with Visiting Medical Officers and Doctor’s Rooms.

About you 

  • Recent experience in a healthcare related administrative role preferably in a hospital setting
  • Demonstrated ability or willingness to work within a small team
  • Willingness to work in administrative roles across a range of departments
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Effective time management skills.

South Perth Hospital is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Perioperative Suite in the role of Scrub Scout.

Position Summary

  • The Registered Nurse delivers quality peri-operative nursing care in a safe, effective and efficient manner within the Operating Suite.
  • The Registered Nurse is responsible for the supervision and direction of Enrolled Nurses and undergraduate nursing students.

About you

  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Undertakes the role of perioperative nurse within the Scope of Nursing Practice Decision Making Framework (Paediatric experience preferred).
  • Excellent communication and team work skills.
  • Knowledge of ACORN and National Standards.
  • Nurses who are passionate about providing service excellence and quality care.

  • Registered as a General Nurse Division 1 with the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia.
