South Perth hospital tops patient satisfaction survey
South Perth hospital has emerged as the private hospital offering the best patient experience according to HBF members who find themselves inpatients.
In HBF’s latest Inpatient Satisfaction Survey the hospital scored an impressive 85.6% overall, up from 84.6% the previous year. The score placed South Perth at the top of the 15 overnight private hospitals surveyed by HBF.
The survey, conducted by Press Gamey Associates, asks HBF members to score private hospitals on a wide range of criteria, ranking everything from the courtesy of the switchboard staff and the quality of the food to the skill of staff taking blood and the length of time doctors spend with patients. It also highlights which areas of the hospital are offering the best patient satisfaction.
HBF members gave the hospital a score of 91.2% for their ‘likelihood to recommend’ the hospital.
Responding to the survey the hospital’s Chairman of the Board, Ross Smith paid tribute to the hospital’s “wonderful staff” for their continued commitment to quality services.
“For over 50 years, South Perth Hospital, a not for profit organisation, has been providing a modern health care facility where caring and dedicated staff provide excellent services,” Mr Smith said.
One person who knows the quality of the experience provided at South Perth is HBF Hospital Liaison Officer Janine Luck. Janine provides support and advice to many HBF members while they are inpatients, and is glowing in her praise of the hospital.
“My two years as HBF’s Hospital Liaison Officer at South Perth have shown me that HBF members are in very good hands while they stay in this hospital. It’s great to see this confirmed in these latest results,” Janine said.
